TEMPE, Ariz., July 11, 2022 – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) unveiled its 2022 Division I Men's & Women's Scholar-Athletes where Howard University saw eight Bison acknowledged for their hard work and dedication off the court. The announcement came Monday morning.
"I am very proud of our young men and women," Howard Director of Tennis Nicholas Askew said. "Our teams not only excel on the court, but in the classroom as well. A special thanks goes to our academic service support team for their endless help."
Among the recipients included Kendall Addison, Sifa Butcher, Justin Cadeau, Daniel Dunac, Hana El Sherif, Kyle Martin, Emnet Simunyola and Pierce Westbrook.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, each Bison maintained a 3.5 or better grade point average (GPA) during the 2021-22 academic year.
Additionally, both squads earned ITA All-Academic honors for accumulating a 3.2 or better team GPA during the 2021-22 academic year.
Collectively, 2,450 Division I student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 413 men's & women's tennis programs received All-Academic honors.
