MEAC Announces Monthly Men’s Golf Honors, presented by Coca-Cola

NORFOLK, Va., April 1, 2022 - North Carolina Central redshirt junior Daniel Barbare has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Golfer of the Month, presented by Coca-Cola, it was announced on Friday.
 
Barbare (r-Jr., Raliegh, N.C.) posted a career-best 3-under-par 68 in the second round of the Bash at the Beach event, which is the lowest score by an Eagle in four years and tied for the third-lowest round in program history. His final round of 70 provided Barbare with the second-best 36-hole total (138) in the NCCU records book, trailing only Brian Demby's 135 in 2005. Barbare finished the event with a three-round total of 214 (+1) to tie for 43rd place on the individual leaderboard. At the Aggie Invitational, Barbare posted scores of 74, 74, and 78 to tie with Landon Johnstone of Texas Southern for second place at 10-over-par (226).
 
Other Top Performers
Gregory Odum (Howard) finished tied for third place at the Carpetbagger Classic, hosted by Colgate University. He wrapped up the weekend tied for third, shooting even par both rounds (144, E). During the second day of competition in The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford University, Odum led the Bison, shooting 5-over (215), including a team-best 1-under (69).
