DOVER, Del., March 16, 2022 -- Delaware State men's basketball standout Myles Carter will be in the national spotlight during the NCAA Final Four weekend next month.
Carter has been selected to compete in the inaugural HBCU All-Star Game on Sunday, April 3 in New Orleans. The game will air live on CBS and be available to stream on Paramount+.
Comprised of some of the best basketball players in the four HBCU NCAA Div. I and II conferences in the country and backed by the official sponsor of the HBCU All-Star Game, Aflac, the 24 selections will be split up into two teams of 12 for the historic game, named after a pair of HBCU coaching legends in John McLendon and Clarence "Big House" Gaines.

Carter reached double figures in scoring in 24 of the Hornets' 28 games during the 2021-22 season, topping the 20-point mark in nine contests, including a career-high 32 vs. Morgan State on Feb. 26. His 12 field goals vs. Morgan State is MEAC high this season, and 32 points in the contest is tied for league high. Carter tallied 27 points, including his 1,000th at Delaware State, against South Carolina State on Feb. 21. He finished his Delaware State career with 1,090 points to rank 15th in team history.
"This is a tremendous honor for Myles, our program and the university," Hornets head coach Stan Waterman said. "Myles has put in the hard work required to reach this level, in addition to being outstanding in the classroom, on campus and the community. I'm certain he will represent Delaware State University extremely well during this fantastic showcase."
"The 24 players that have been selected represent the best in college basketball at our country's prestigious black colleges and universities. Our HBCU All-Stars national scouting staff did an amazing job for the past three months evaluating some of the most talented players from the 48 HBCUs. We know there were many players deserving of the opportunity to play in this game," HBCU All-Stars LLC Founder and CEO Travis L. Williams said. "This is history in the making and has been a long journey to get to this point, but we are just getting started and expect to put on a great event with our amazing CBS Sports partners and HBCU All-Stars staff in New Orleans."
