BALTIMORE, Md.., March 14, 2022 -- The Delaware State women's tennis team opened its 2022 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) schedule on a high note, posting a 7-0 victory over Coppin State on Monday.
The Hornets took each of the six contested matches in straight sets, while winning No. 3 doubles by forfeit.
Delaware State's Kit Yi Kay Au-Yeung won her third straight singles match, posting a 6-3, 6-3 victory, to improve to 3-1 at No. 1 singles this spring. She also teamed with Eva Golembiovski for a 6-1 win in No. 2 doubles vs. Coppin State.
Daria Julia and Iris Leder each improved to 2-2 in singles this spring after straight set wins at Coppin State. The pair also took the No. 1 doubles contest 6-0.
Julia was a 7-5, 6-1 winner at No.2, while Leder posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory in the No. 4 match.
Klaudija Lisovska improved to 3-0 in singles play after a 7-5, 7-5 victory at No. 3 vs. the Eagles.
The Hornets (1-0 MEAC) won their second straight match by a 7-0 score to improve to 2-2 overall this spring.
