MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors, presented by Coca-Cola

NORFOLK, Va., March 1, 2022North Carolina A&T State senior Ericka Quesada was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Delaware State freshman Emily Breidegam was named Rookie of the Week.
 
Quesada (Sr., Heredia, Costa Rica) was named Tournament MVP at the Vern Stallings Invitational this past weekend, leading the Aggies to a runner-up finish and averaging 226.6 pins in traditional play. She topped the 200-pin mark three times, including a weekend-best 277 (currently the third-best single-game score in the MEAC this season).
 
Breidegam (Fr., Reading, Pa.) was the MEAC’s top finishing freshman at the Vern Stallings Invitational, coming in 18th overall after averaging 195.2 pins over five games. She eclipsed the 200-pin mark three times and bowled a weekend-best 211.
 
Other Top Performers
Logan Brown (Coppin State) averaged 192 pins at the Vern Stallings Invitational and bowled a weekend-high 214.
 
Saralyne Nassberg (Delaware State) bowled a weekend-best 236 at the Vern Stallings Invite and was 14th in the individual standings with a 200.6 pinfall average.
 
Brooke Roberts (Maryland Eastern Shore) averaged 213.8 pins at the Vern Stallings Invitational, coming in seventh in the individual standings.
 
Sierra Poole (Monmouth) averaged 187.0 pins in traditional play at the Hawk Flight Classic.
 
Saige Yamada (Monmouth) was sixth in the Hawk Flight Classic with a 194 traditional pinfall average and a weekend high of 226.
 
Chloe Newberry (North Carolina A&T State) bowled 200 or better in two of her three traditional games at the Vern Stallings Invite, including a 235 high.
 
Crystal Brewer (Norfolk State) averaged 192 pins at the Vern Stallings Invitational and bowled a weekend-high 214.
