Howard 83, Delaware State 49

DOVER, Del. --
Destiny Howell's 23 points led Howard to an 83-49 win over Delaware State Monday evening in Memorial Hall.

The Bison improved to 11-8 overall, 5-2 in MEAC play.

Howell went 8-for-14 from the floor and hit five 3-pointers. Vanessa Udoji came off the bench to pour in 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting, while Nyla Cooper added 11 points.

Morgan State 73, South Carolina State 49

ORANGEBURG, S.C. --
Three Bears scored in double figures, led by Ja'Niah Henson's 19 points, as Morgan State took a 73-49 win over South Carolina State at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Center on Monday.

Henson was 8-for-16 from the floor in helping the Bears improve to 10-6 overall 4-2 in MEAC play.

Adia Brisker added 16 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while Ashia McCalla chipped in 10 points.

Norfolk State 53, Maryland Eastern Shore 48

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. --
Points were hard to come by at the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center Monday evening, but Deja Francis led the way with 13 of them as Norfolk State came away with a 53-48 win over Maryland Eastern Shore.

The Spartans remained unbeaten in MEAC play, improving ot 6-0 and 10-7 overall.

Camille Downs, Janay Turner and Makoye Diawara each had nine points for the Spartans; Mahoganie Williams was the team's top rebounder with seven, and Crystal White led the way with five steals.

North Carolina Central 96, St. Andrews 29

DURHAM, N.C. -- 
The North Carolina Central women's basketball team made over half of its shot attempts and stole the ball a modern-era record 30 times in coasting to a 96-29 non-conference home win over St. Andrews University on Monday evening in McDougald-McLendon Arena.
 
All eight active Eagles scored at least six points and made at least one steal. A half dozen maroon and gray players reached double-digit scoring totals.
 
Freshman Diamond Thomas posted double figures for an eighth consecutive game and led NCCU with 20 points. Junior Kira Lowery extended her streak of eclipsing the 10-plus point plateau for a fifth straight outing, bucketing 14 points on 75-percent precision from the floor.

Lowery also orchestrated NCCU's offense with a season-high nine assists, which is the fourth most in the program's modern era.
