First-place Howard used a balanced attack to withstand a late North Carolina Central push on Saturday afternoon, escaping Burr Gymnasium with a 65-63 win.

The Bison improved to 16-8 overall and 10-2 in league action. The win also gave head coach Ty Grace her 100th victory with the Bison.

Five Bison scored in double figures: Broklyn Fort-Davis and Destiny Howell each had a team-high 14 points (and Fort-Davis added 10 rebounds and two blocks), while Krislyn Marsh added 12 points, eight boards, four blocks and two steals.

Kaiya Creek and Nyla Cooper each chipped in 10 points.

Nia Ford led NCCU (4-18, 2-10 MEAC) with 19 points.

Four Bears scored in double figures in Memorial Hall on Saturday, as Morgan State defeated Delaware State 69-63 in overtime.

Morgan State improved to 15-7 overall, 9-3 in MEAC play.

Charlene Shepherd had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Bears, with Jayla Atmore adding 14 points and four steals. Adia Brisker and Kaia Ponder each had 10 points, and Ponder added 10 boards.

Janasia Law led Delaware State (0-21, 0-12 MEAC) with 21 points.

Maryland Eastern Shore 60, Coppin State 51

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. --
Brooklyn Bailey led three Maryland Eastern Shore players in double figures with 15 points in the Hytche Athletic Center on Saturday, as the Hawks defeated Coppin State 60-51.

The Hawks improved to 10-14 overall, 6-6 in MEAC play.

Bailey was 5-for-10 from the floor off the bench and hit a pair of threes. Zamara Haynes added 14 points, while Mya Thomas notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards.

Jewel Watkins led Coppin State (14-11, 8-4 MEAC) with 18 points.

Norfolk State 68, South Carolina State 29

NORFOLK, Va. -- 
Norfolk State cruised past South Carolina State 68-29 on Saturday behind an all-time performance from Camille Downs. The senior guard came up one steal short of a triple-double, finishing with 15 points, 12 rebounds, nine steals and five assists.

Coming off two straight losses in Baltimore, Md. last weekend, the Spartans were hungry for a win on Saturday and it showed from the opening tip. Norfolk State scored the game's opening 20 points, shutting down the Lady Bulldogs defensively.

The Spartans finished the day with two double-digit rebounders: Downs (12) and Lacee Savage (11).
