MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors, presented by Coca-Cola

NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 22, 2022Delaware State freshman Kelsey Cummings was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Cummings was also named Rookie of the Week.
 
Cummings (Fr., Oxford, N.C.) was the top individual in the MEAC meet this past weekend, averaging 214.1 pins over nine games in traditional play. She topped the 200-pin mark six times over the weekend, including a weekend-best 258. She averaged 21.4 pins per frame and was 100% in single-pin spare conversions.
 
Other Top Performers
Gabrielle Ochoa Hubbard (Maryland Eastern Shore) averaged 199.6 pins at the MEAC #2 meet, helping the Hawks go 8-0 on the weekend.
 
Brooke Roberts (Maryland Eastern Shore) averaged 210.1 pins in eight traditional games to end up second in the MEAC #2 individual standings.
 
Jamie Phelan (Monmouth) was third among 62 bowlers at the MEAC #2 meet, tallying six 200-plus games.
 
Melanie Katen (North Carolina A&T State) averaged 195.3 pins in traditional play, ranking sixth in the individual standings.
 
Chloe Newberry (North Carolina A&T State) had three 200-plus games at the MEAC #2 meet, including a weekend-best 246.
