SAVANNAH, Ga. – North Carolina Central University sophomore Kendall Wallace carded two rounds in the 70s to top the Eagles at The Savannah Intercollegiate at Crosswinds Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
A native of Blythewood, South Carolina, Wallace registered a team-high nine birdies in three rounds with scores of 82, 75, and 77 (+18) to tie for 75th place in the individual leaderboard.
NCCU senior Travis Jackson (Laurinburg, N.C.) and sophomore Trey Morse (New Orleans, La.) tied for 85th place with total scores of 244 (+28). Jackson shot 82, 79, and 83, while Morse, who posted 30 pars to lead the Eagles, finished with tallies of 82, 76, and 86.
Sophomore Jesper Gullstrand (Vellinge, Sweden) rolled in NCCU's lone eagle during the tournament, placing 91st with a total score of 254 (92-78-84).
Junior Daniel Barbare, who entered the weekend as NCCU's top golfer with a season average score of 72.6, withdrew from the event due to illness.
As a team, NCCU finished in 15th place out of 16 teams with scores of 338, 308, and 330, for a total of 976 (+112).
