Coppin State 56, Norfolk State 48
BALTIMORE, Md. -- Coppin State won its sixth straight game with a thrilling 56-48 victory over Norfolk State on Saturday afternoon at PEC Arena.
The Eagles improved to 14-9 on the season and their 8-2 mark in conference play moves them into a tie for first place in the MEAC. Coppin also clinched a winning record on the season for the first time since the 2015-16 campaign.
Jaia Alexander led three Eagles in double figures, notching another double-double with a team-high 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Aliyah Lawson added 13 points. Colleen Bucknor was a perfect 5-of-5 from floor for 10 points and added nine rebounds.
With three more 3-pointers, Lawson passed Hall of Famer Rashida Suber for fourth on Coppin's single-season list and now has a MEAC-leading 60 trifectas on the season.

Howard 81, Morgan State 63
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Five Bison scored in double figures on Saturday afternoon in Burr Gymnasium, led by 16 points off the bench from Destiny Howell as Howard defeated Morgan State 81-63.
With the win, the Bison (14-8, 8-2 MEAC) are in a three-way tie for first place with Coppin State and Norfolk State.
Howell was 5-for-10 from the floor and hit five of her six free throws. Anzhane' Hutton added 14 points and a team-high 11 rebounds for another double-double, her fifth of the season, while Krislyn Marsh and Iyanna Warren chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Kaniyah Harris added 10 points.
Charlene Shepherd led the Bears (13-7, 7-3 MEAC) with 21 points.

Maryland Eastern Shore 65, South Carolina State 57
ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- Brooklyn Bailey came off the bench to drop 21 points Saturday afternoon in the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center as Maryland Eastern Shore defeated South Carolina State 65-57.
The Hawks improved to 8-14 overall and 4-6 in MEAC play.
Bailey was 7-for-15 from the floor and hit five 3-pointers. Zamara Haynes added 14 points, while Amanda Carney chipped in 12 to go along with four steals.
Mahogany Lester grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
Trinity Klock had 16 points and eight boards to lead the Bulldogs (3-21, 3-7 MEAC).

DURHAM, N.C. -- Tianna Carter's double-double paced North Carolina Central Saturday afternoon in McDougald-McLendon Arena, as the Eagles defeated Delaware State 73-49.
Carter had 17 points and 13 boards to lead NCCU (4-16, 2-8 MEAC), going 6-for-13 from the floor and hitting five of her eight free throws. Diamond Thomas had three 3-pointers en route to scoring 12 points.
Janasia Law led Delaware State (0-19, 0-10 MEAC) with 15 points.
