MEAC, iHeart Media to Accept National Anthem, Halftime Auditions

NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 16, 2022 – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and iHeart Media are partnering to accept audition videos for national anthem and halftime performances at the 2022 MEAC Basketball Tournament (March 9-12, Norfolk Scope Arena, Norfolk Va.).
 
The auditions, also known as MEAC at Center Court, allow entertainers, dancers, singers, choirs and musicians of all ages and backgrounds an opportunity to showcase their talents at the conference’s annual basketball tournament.
 
Prospective performers can submit their audition videos through Monday, Feb. 28 online through one of two iHeart-owned radio stations: 103Jamz and 92.1. the BEAT.
 
National anthem performers should submit an acapella version of the song no longer than two minutes, while halftime performers will have up to three minutes to present their acts.
 
Applicants interested in submitting a video audition should have a positive attitude, creative technique and style and display a high level of showmanship and energy. Performances may not include profanity or other obscene materials.
 
MEAC judges will select the winners, who will be notified by Tuesday, March 1.
