NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 15, 2022—UAB senior Katie Hurley and Delaware State freshman Sydney Reardon were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Bowlers of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Reardon was also named Rookie of the Week.
Hurley (Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.) was named MVP of the Storm Flyer Classic after averaging 219.2 pins in traditional play to top the individual standings. She bowled a weekend-best 257 and topped the 200-pin mark three times, while also averaging 19.4 pins per frame in Baker play.
Reardon (Fr., Ridgefield, Conn.) was the MEAC’s top rookie in the James Brown Invitational, coming in fourth with a traditional average of 215.4 and bowling a weekend-best 266. In addition to topping 200 pins three times in traditional play, Reardon was strong in Baker play, averaging 21.8 pins per frame and an overall filled frame percentage of 88.7.
Other Top Performers
Brooke Roberts (Maryland Eastern Shore) was second in the James Brown Invitational after averaging 218 pins in traditional play and racking up three 200-plus games.
Chloe Newberry (North Carolinas A&T State) averaged 214 in traditional play at the James Brown Invitational and had three games of 200 or better.
