Maryland Eastern Shore 72, Navy 66
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Maryland Eastern Shore used a stifling defense to close out the final 3:32 at Navy on a 14-4 run to grab a 72-66 victory on Thursday.
The Hawks (3-6) played their most complete game of the season so far battling on the glass, playing aggressive on offense and committing just five turnovers.
Mya Thomas — who twisted her ankle late in the win against Virginia Union — chipped in 12 points, five rebounds, an assist and a steal. She hit several big shots in the second half when she scored 10 of her 12. Freshman Jala Bannerman, making just her second career start, matched a career high with 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting — including four from deep — to go with a rebound, three assists and a steal.

Norfolk State 65, Hampton 56
NORFOLK, Va. -- Norfolk State came into the 2022 rendition of the Battle of the Bay rivalry seeking revenge, coming up just short last year against Hampton. The Spartans got that vengeance in commanding fashion on Thursday, defeating the Pirates 65-56 without trailing for a single second.
Camille Downs led the way with 21 points, her highest output of the season, adding five steals and four rebounds. Deja Francis followed closely behind with 16 points and five assists, her seventh game of the season scoring in double figures.
Niya Fields continued to facilitate the offense with three assists, but also tied her season high of 11 points on Thursday evening. She finished the night 5-of-9 from the floor, including a 3-pointer in the third quarter.

Campbell 47, Coppin State 38
BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Colleen Bucknor led the Eagles with the ten points as Coppin State shot just 29.6% from the floor in a 47-38 loss at Campbell on Thursday night at Gilbert Craig Gore Arena.
Wth the loss, the Eagles now stand at 2-6 overall while the Camels improve to 4-3.
