WASHINGTON, D.C. -- 
The Howard University men's basketball team played its best all-around game of the season, placing four players in double figures and using two big runs to defeats Florida International University 71-59 in a non-conference game at Burr Gymnasium on Tuesday.
 
The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Bison.

Steve Settle III recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Jordan Wood added a team-high 15 points. Shy Odom also had 14 points, while Elijah Hawkins came off the bench to pour in 13 points -- seven of which came in the final three minutes.

Sam Sessoms recorded his 2,000th career point and finished with a team-high 23 points as Coppin State fell at George Washington University, 83-71, on Tuesday night at Charles E. Smith Center.

Rakeim Gary led five Bulldogs in double figures with 17 points Tuesday evening in Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center, but South Carolina State fell 94-84 to UNC Asheville.
