MEAC Announces Weekly Bowling Honors, presented by Coca-Cola

NORFOLK, Va., Nov. 8, 2022Maryland Eastern Shore senior Elizabeth Ross and North Carolina A&T State senior Lauren Tomaszewski were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Bowlers of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today.
 
Ross (Sr., Schenectady, N.Y.) was second in traditional play at the Track Kat Klash, averaging 225.8 pins over five matches and eclipsing the 200-pin mark all five times – including a high of 238. Overall, she averaged 20.72 pins per frame in 131 total frames bowled, to go along with a 90.2 fill percentage and an 85.5 spare percentage. For the weekend, Ross averaged 9.07 pins on first ball and had a 54.5 strike percentage.
 
Tomaszewski (Sr., O’Fallon, Ill.) led the Aggies to the Track Kat Klash tournament win – in which North Carolina A&T State defeated preseason No. 1 McKendree for the title. In 132 total frames bowled for the weekend, she averaged 21.3 pins per frame and had a 90.2 fill percentage. In traditional play, she averaged 211.2 pins, bowling higher than 200 in all five matches, and for the weekend, she boasted a 55.3 strike percentage, an 86.0 spare percentage and averaged 9.08 pins on first ball.
 
Other Top Performers
Logan Brown (Coppin State) won the individual title at the Virginia Union Invitational this past weekend, averaging 192.4 pins in traditional play and bowling a weekend-high 220 against the tournament host as Coppin State finished second in the team standings.
 
Emily Garl (Delaware State) was fourth in traditional play at the Track Kat Klash, averaging 220.6 pins across five matches and bowling a weekend-high 268. For the weekend, she averaged 21.4 pins per frame and an 85.8 fill percentage.
