NORFOLK, Va., Nov. 7, 2022 – North Carolina Central junior quarterback Davius Richard was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference announced today. Delaware State sophomore linebacker Aiden Weber and South Carolina State redshirt junior defensive end Patrick Godbolt were named Co-Defensive Players of the Week, while Delaware State kicker Nathan Wilson was named Rookie of the Week. North Carolina Central redshirt senior Xi Simpson was named Offensive Lineman of the Week, and North Carolina Central junior kicker Adrian Olivo earned Specialist of the Week honors.
Richard (QB, 6-3, 215, Jr., Belle Glade, Fla.) racked up 385 yards of total offense and accounted for five touchdowns in the Eagles’ Homecoming win over Howard. He needed just 13 completions to record 281 yards through the air, throwing three touchdown passes, while also rushing seven times for 104 yards and two scores. Two of his three touchdown passes went for at least 64 yards.
Weber (LB, 6-2, 210, So., Pottstown, Pa.) recorded 11 tackles (nine solo) at South Carolina State, and he also racked up four tackles for loss for a total of nine yards as the Hornets picked up their first win on the road against the Bulldogs since 2007.
Godbolt (DE, 6-3, 235, r-Jr., Blythewood, S.C.) had eight tackles (seven solo), including four for loss totaling 13 yards and a sack, against Delaware State. He also forced a fumble, broke up a pass and recorded an interception.
Wilson (PK, 6-1, 180, Fr., Salem, N.J.) kicked the game-winning field goal in overtime to give Delaware State a 27-24 win over South Carolina State. Overall, he hit both field goal attempts, all three point-after tries and had two touchbacks in five kickoffs.
Simpson (OG, 6-2, 290, r-Sr., Chester, S.C.) graded out at 88% in helping the Eagles amass 497 yards of total offense and record their third 50-point scoring effort of the season. He recorded two pancake blocks and helped North Carolina Central average 7.6 yards per play on offense.
Olivo (PK, 5-10, 185, Jr., Plant City, Fla.) was a perfect 6-for-6 on extra points against Howard, while also nailing both field goal attempts: a 36-yarder and then a career-long 43, accounting for 12 of the Eagles’ 50 points in the Homecoming win.

Matt Noll (Delaware State) averaged 48.6 yards on five punts against South Carolina State, including two 50-yarders and one that went 61 yards.
Terrance Hollon (Howard) had a season-high 14 tackles (including three solo stops) against North Carolina Central.
Ian Wheeler (Howard) returned a kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown against North Carolina Central.
Jordan Amadi (Morgan State) averaged 42.5 yards on six punts against Stony Brook, including a 68-yarder.
Alfonzo Graham (Morgan State) rushed for 177 yards on 23 carries and a touchdown against Stony Brook.
Erick Hunter (Morgan State) had nine tackles (five solo), two for loss and a fumble recovery against Stony Brook.
Christian Smith (North Carolina Central) recorded four tackles and an interception against Howard.
Max U’Ren (North Carolina Central) tied the team high with six tackles against Howard.
