BALTIMORE, Md. -- 
 Coppin State won its seventh straight match and 20th of the season in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-11) sweep over MEAC rival Maryland Eastern Shore on Friday night at PEC Arena.

The Eagles remain atop the league standings, while the Hawks fall to 7-16 overall and 5-7 in the MEAC.
 
Prior to the match, Coppin honored graduate students Miajavon Coleman and Yaniris Miller-Green, who played in their final home matches.

Howard 3, North Carolina Central 0

DURHAM, N.C. --
Defending MEAC champion Howard bounced back Friday evening with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-13) road win over North Carolina Central.

The Bison improved to 16-9 overall and 9-2 in MEAC play on the season.

Howard hit .345 as a team, led by Rya McKinnon's 12 kills and 12 digs. Cimone Woodard and Tamar Wells both added seven kills, with Woodard hitting .462 and Wells adding four blocks. Kayla Diaz had 33 assists, averaging 11 per set.

Norfolk State 3, South Carolina State 0

ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- 
Norfolk State got its road trip in full swing with a 3-0 victory at South Carolina State, defeating the Bulldogs by scores of 25-17, 25-8, and 25-21 on Friday evening.
 
The result marked the Spartans' second consecutive victory without dropping a set, after taking down Morgan State 3-0 on Sunday. With the win, Norfolk State improved to 7-14 overall, 7-4 in the MEAC.
 
Shonte Seale led the Spartans with 11 kills, followed by Carla Hernandez's seven. Freshman Raquel Lightbourn put together her best performance of the season, posting season-highs in kills (5), points (7.5), and total blocks (3).
