COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- 
Sam Sessoms tied the game with a three and converted on a game-winning three-point play moments later to lift Coppin State's men's basketball team to an 90-85 overtime victory at Tennessee Tech on Thursday night at the Eblen Center. 

Coppin has now won three straight non-conference games for the first time since the 1993-94 season.

Sessoms finished with a game-high 24 points on 8-for-15 shooting to go with three 3-pointers while making all five of his free throws. He also dished out 10 assists for his second double-double of the season and grabbed five rebounds.

Norfolk State 64, Monmouth 59

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. -- 
Playing its third consecutive game on the road, Norfolk State men's basketball held off a Monmouth comeback, coming away with a 64-59 victory.
 
Joe Bryant, Jr., led the Spartans with 23 points, his second game of the season scoring 20 or more. He also pulled in a team-high seven rebounds, while Christian Ings added 13 points and three assists.

Norfolk State contained Monmouth's offense effectively, holding the Hawks to 23-for-68 shooting (33.8 percent) for the game. The Spartans shot 7-for-17 from behind the arc on Friday, their most efficient mark of the season.

LEXINGTON, Ky. --
South Carolina State fell 106-63 to Kentucky in Rupp Arena Thursday night.

Rakeim Gary led the Bulldogs (0-4) with 13 points, hitting three 3-pointers, while Shaman Alston added 10 points.
