BALTIMORE, Md. -- Morgan State closed out strong on Thursday evening, outscoring Loyola (Md.) 21-5 in the fourth quarter en route to a 59-50 win at Hill Field House.
For the Bears, this marks their best start since 2021-22, when they won their first three games of the season.
Ja'Niah Henson led Morgan State with 22 points on 8-for-15 shooting, hitting four 3-pointers while also grabbing four rebounds, dishing out four assists and grabbing three steals. Charlene Shepherd added 19 points, six rebounds and three steals.
Shepherd was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line.

George Washington 65, Maryland Eastern Shore 50
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Maryland Eastern Shore struggled early against George Washington on Thursday, but found their way a bit late in the game. The Hawks (0-2) used a 17-4 run in the fourth quarter to chop into the Colonials lead before falling 65-50.
Junior Zamara Haynes led the way for the Hawks with 19 points, seven rebounds, two steals and an assist in 35 minutes.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Janiah Hinton led South Carolina State with 14 points Thursday evening, but the Bulldogs fell 50-41 to Queens University of Charlotte in Curry Arena.
Hinton was 5-for-7 from the floor and hit four of her five 3-pointers.
