BALTIMORE, Md. --
Morgan State closed out strong on Thursday evening, outscoring Loyola (Md.) 21-5 in the fourth quarter en route to a 59-50 win at Hill Field House.

For the Bears, this marks their best start since 2021-22, when they won their first three games of the season.

Ja'Niah Henson led Morgan State with 22 points on 8-for-15 shooting, hitting four 3-pointers while also grabbing four rebounds, dishing out four assists and grabbing three steals. Charlene Shepherd added 19 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Shepherd was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line.

George Washington 65, Maryland Eastern Shore 50

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- 
Maryland Eastern Shore struggled early against George Washington on Thursday, but found their way a bit late in the game. The Hawks (0-2) used a 17-4 run in the fourth quarter to chop into the Colonials lead before falling 65-50.

Junior Zamara Haynes led the way for the Hawks with 19 points, seven rebounds, two steals and an assist in 35 minutes.

Janiah Hinton led South Carolina State with 14 points Thursday evening, but the Bulldogs fell 50-41 to Queens University of Charlotte in Curry Arena.

Hinton was 5-for-7 from the floor and hit four of her five 3-pointers.
