BALTIMORE, Md. -- 
Andrea Tsvetanova opened the match with four-straight aces and the Eagles never looked back as Coppin State swept Norfolk State 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-19) on Friday night at PEC Arena.

The win puts Coppin alone in first place in the MEAC with a 13-7 overall record and a perfect 4-0 mark in league play.

The nation's leader in aces, Tsvetanova recorded five on the night to go aong with 32 assists and 10 digs. Ammaarah Williams had a match-high 12 kills while hitting .357 on 28 attempts to go with nine digs.

Delaware State earned its third win in MEAC competition by way of a straight-set sweep over the Eagles of North Carolina Central at the McDougald-McLendon Arena on Friday.
 
With a team-total 14 assisted blocks, Delaware State's defense was led by sophomore middle blocker Kelsie Dawson, who was in on a match-best five assisted blocks. Sydney Lewi recorded the lone Hornet solo block in the win. Lewis also tallied four kills on seven attempts for a .571 hitting percentage in the game.

Howard 3, Morgan State 0

WASHINGTON, D.C. --
Jennifer Bolden led the way with nine kills as Howard hit .280 as a team in a straight-set sweep of Morgan State (25-15, 25-19, 25-14) Friday evening in Burr Gymnasium.

The Bison improved to 8-7 overall and 2-1 in MEAC play after their first match in almost two weeks.

Bolden hit .500 for the match, while Tamar Wells hit .857 with an error-free six kills on seven swings. Kayla Diaz led the offense with 21 assists, while Essence Bell had a team-high nine digs and four service aces.

Maryland Eastern Shore 3, South Carolina State 0

ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- 
It was a full team effort for Maryland Eastern Shore at South Carolina State, with the Hawks (3-12, 1-3 MEAC) dropping the Bulldogs (0-15, 0-4 MEAC) in three sets (25-13, 25-9, 25-17) on Friday.

Nkemjika Ikemefuna was a keystone for the Hawks throughout the match, leading both teams with 10 with an outstanding .750 hitting percentage – meanwhile Sophia Chacon and Romina Vacca combined for 23 assists to keep the offense moving.
 
Isil Yilmaz started in the libero for the Hawks on the night, getting 10 digs to the Bulldogs' 11 as a team, while also picking up five assists. Charlize Williams, Derionah Abner and Ranyla Griggs combined for eight of the Hawks' nine blocks.
