NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 3, 2022—North Carolina Central freshman outside hitter Kamren Harper was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Harper was also named Rookie of the Week and Coppin State senior Andrea Tsvetanova was named Setter of the Week, while Coppin State senior Ashley Roman earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Harper (5-11, Fr., OH, Simpsonville, S.C.) accounted for 16.5 points in the Eagles’ sweep of South Carolina State this past weekend, racking up 11 kills on .529 hitting while also notching a season-high five service aces. She averaged 3.7 kills and 1.7 aces per set in the victory.
Tsvetanova (5-9, Sr., S, Sofia, Bulgaria) racked up 32 assists, seven digs, two service aces and two blocks in the Eagles’ sweep of rival Morgan State – a match that put Coppin State in sole possession of first place in the MEAC. She quarterbacked an Eagles offense that hit .314, and Tsvetanova, one of the nation’s leaders in aces, set the program single-season record for aces.
Roman (5-5, Sr., L, Isabela, Puerto Rico) moved into second place on the MEAC’s all-time career digs list after turning in 16 against Morgan State this past weekend. She also recorded a pair of service aces, moving into the top 10 in the Eagles’ career list, and three assists.

Kennedy Beatty (Coppin State) racked up five digs and two aces against Morgan State.
Geraldyn Palacios (Coppin State) hit .600 with seven kills against rival Morgan State.
Kelsie Dawson (Delaware State) had four total blocks (three solo) against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Sydney Lewis (Delaware State) had seven kills and four blocks in a sweep of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Maria Verrier (Delaware State) recorded three digs and an ace against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Sophia Chacon (Maryland Eastern Shore) had 16 assists against Delaware State.
Nkemjika Ikemefuna (Maryland Eastern Shore) recorded seven kills against Delaware State.
Loren Johnson (North Carolina Central) had eight digs, five assists and two aces against South Carolina State.
Vanila Pulu-Suliafu (North Carolina Central) recorded 17 assists, five digs and two kills against South Carolina State.
