Coppin State 3, Norfolk State 2
NORFOLK, Va. -- Coppin State's Miajavon Coleman made history with a double-double 16 kills and 17 digs as the Eagles defeated Norfolk State, 3-2 (25-18, 19-25, 16-25, 25-23, 15-9) on Friday night at Gill Gymnasium.
With the win, Coppin improves to 18-8 overall and remains in first place in the MEAC with a 9-1 mark in league play.
A graduate student from San Antonio, Texas, Coleman moved into fourth place in MEAC history with 1,665 career kills, passing Howard's Khaila Donaldson ('18) and Arlene Mitchell ('06) of North Carolina A&T. Coleman ranks second all-time among MEAC players in total kills since the 2008 season, when the NCAA switched to a 25-point scoring system from 30 points.
Coleman also became the first Coppin player to have both 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs and sits fifth in school history with 1,006 digs.

Delaware State 3, North Carolina Central 0
DOVER, Del. -- Delaware State completed the 2022 regular-season sweep of the Eagles of North Carolina Central with a 3-0 MEAC win at Memorial Hall on Friday.
Valeria Otero and Alondra Maldonado paced the efforts offensively with double-digit point performances. Otero recorded a game-high 14.5 points behind a match-best in kills (12) and service aces (2). Maldonado tallied nine kills and a pair of assisted blocks for a total of 10 points in the win.
Defensively, sophomore middle blocker Kelsie Dawson led the way with a solo block and a match-high three assisted blocks and with seven kills on the night, she finished the match with 9.5 total points.

Howard 3, Morgan State 0
BALTIMORE, Md. -- Rya McKinnon led a balanced Howard attack Friday evening in Hill Field House, as the Bison swept Morgan State 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-19).
The Bison improved to 15-7 overall and 8-1 in MEAC play.
McKinnon had eight kills, seven digs and three aces, while Bria Woodard and Cimone Woodard both had seven kills.

Maryland Eastern Shore 3, South Carolina State 0
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- Maryland Eastern Shore got a solid win on Friday against visiting South Carolina State in the Hytche Athletic Center. The Hawks (6-15, 4-6 MEAC) swept the Bulldogs (0-21, 0-10 MEAC) in three straight sets 25-18, 25-20 and 25-7 with three different players grabbing at least seven kills.
Charlize Williams continued her recent tear with eight kills at a .500 hitting percentage while stonewalling the Bulldogs with three solo blocks.
Derionah Abner was solid with eight kills herself at a .533 rate and Yazmyn Stewart added seven kills at a .438 rate.
