Sigei, Kimaiyo Shine for Spartans at Panorama Farms
EARLYSVILLE, Va. -- Norfolk State sophomore Gideon Sigei shined on the big stage again for the Spartans, posting another season-best at the Panorama Farms XC23 Invitational on Saturday at Panorama Farms.
In a meet filled with regional powers from the likes of the ACC and SEC, Sigei finished in 23rd place out of 176 runners. He ran a season-best time of 23 minutes, 50.2 seconds, one second faster than his time from the Paul Short Invitation two weeks ago that already ranked as the MEAC's fastest time by almost a minute.
On the women's side, Mercyline Kimaiyo paced the Spartans for the fourth straight meet, clocking a 5K time of 18:05.2, the fastest in the MEAC this season.

Delaware State Competes in Delaware Invitational
NEWARK, Del. -- Delaware State capped off its 2022 regular season at the Delaware Invitational hosted by University of Delaware on Saturday.
As a team, the Hornet men finished fourth overall, while the women were fifth.
The men were led by sophomore standout Devin Smith, who claimed his third top-five finish after placing third with a time 27:29.78. For the women, Ashley Lagat added another top-10 finish to her season after coming in ninth place with a time of 25:07.34.

Morgan State Men Finish 10th, Women 12th in Aubrey Shenk
GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The Morgan State women's cross country team finished the pre-championship portion of its season this past weekend in the Aubrey Shenk Invitational hosted by Gettysburg College. The Lady Bears would finish the 6k race in 12th place with 272 points.
The Lady Bears concluded the race with a collective time of 25:28. Leading the team as top finisher was grad student Rachel Field, who placed 20th with a time of 23:47.5.
The men's team finished 10th with a combined time of 2:21:18 and a score of 289 points in the 8k race. The leading runner, again, for the men's team this time around was Davian Gray, who finished with a time of 26:52.9.

Hawks Post Solid Showing at Delaware Invitational
NEWARK, Del. -- Maryland Eastern Shore laced up for one of the final meets of the regular season in the University of Delaware Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
The men's team posted a third-place finish while the women's squad ranked sixth on the day.
As has often been the case this season, senior Nahom Ftwi grabbed the top spot for the men's team. After a career best 26:23.5 at the Don Cathcart Invitational to open the month, Ftwi turned in a time of 28:46.76, good for seventh overall.
