BALTIMORE, Md. -- Through the first two sets Sunday afternoon in the Physical Education Complex, Delaware State was in command, winning 25-13 and 25-11 to go up 2-0. But Coppin State answered with set scores of 26-24, 25-19 and 16-14 to win the match in five sets.
The Eagles improved to 15-8 overall and 6-1 in MEAC play, currently holding first place by mere percentage points over Howard.
Ammaarah Williams had 16 kills to lead the Coppin State attack to go along with eight digs and three block assists. Yaniris Miller-Green added 12 kills and four block assists, while Andrea Tsvetanova had 37 assists and 13 digs.

Howard 3, South Carolina State 0
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Howard used a balanced offensie attack on Sunday in a 3-0 (25-8, 2513, 25-15) win over South Carolina State in Burr Gymnasium.
The Bison (12-7, 5-1 MEAC) have won five straight matches.
The Bison hit .408 for the match and were led by Dami Awojobi's six kills. Rya McKinnon and Alex Smith each added five kills -- McKinnon on .714 hitting (error-free in seven swings) and Smith on .625 (error-free in eight swings). Leah Reeves had 19 assists, and Kayla Diaz had 10 in her lone set of action.

Maryland Eastern Shore 3, Morgan State 0
BALTIMORE, Md. -- On the road, Maryland Eastern Shore took a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-23, 25-20) against Morgan State in Hill Field House on Sunday.
The Hawks (5-13, 3-4 MEAC) dominated the match, winning battles at the net and playing solid defense to keep rallies going.
The offense was led by Nkemjika Ikemefuna's 10 kills and Charlize Williams' seven on 13 attempts with no errors

North Carolina Central 3, Norfolk State 2
NORFOLK, Va. -- North Carolina Central won the final three sets to bounce back from a two-set deficit and shock host Norfolk State 3-2 in MEAC play on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles have now come back from a 2-nil set deficit twice this season, first pulling off the hardest of comebacks against Campbell on Sept. 13. N.C. Central won by set scores of 13-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23 and 20-18.
Freshman Kamren Harper led the victorious Eagles with a season-best 21-point performance. Her big outing included 18 kills, three aces and one block assist. The 18 kills matched her season-high total.
