NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 11, 2022—Coppin State junior Logan Brown and Delaware State sophomore Cierra Brown were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Bowlers of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Coppin State’s Elizabeth Stokley was named Rookie of the Week.
Brown (Jr., Waldorf, Md.) was named MVP of the Bud Whitman Memorial this past weekend after posting the highest total pinfall in traditional play (1,028) for an average of 205.6 pins per game. In 95 total frames bowled for the weekend, she averaged 19.6 pins and had an average first ball of 9.11. She had a 53.1% strike rate and an 80.2 fill percentage in helping the Eagles finish fifth. In a traditional match against No. 11 Mount St. Mary’s, she bowled a career-high 246.
Brown (So., Valdese, N.C.) helped the No. 12 Hornets finish third in the Bud Whitman Memorial this past weekend, averaging 20.1 pins per frame over 81 total frames (including 51 in Baker play). She had a 91.6 fill percentage overall – and 90.7% in Baker play – while converting 84.8% of her total spares and 92.6% of her one-pin spares. She averaged 9.07 pins on first balls, and her weekend best in traditional play was a 205.
Stokley (Fr., Elizabeth City, N.C.) bowled a weekend-best 203 against No. 11 Mount St. Mary’s in traditional competition this past weekend at the Bud Whitman Memorial. In 65 total frames bowled, she averaged 8.77 on the first ball and had a 40.0% strike rate.
