Morgan State Finishes Second in Seahawk Invitational
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The Morgan State Lady Bears competed in the Wagner Seahawk Invitational at Rab's Country Lanes this past weekend, finishing second.
Day #1 saw Morgan State go 4-1 in traditional game play beating Adelphi, Saint Thomas Aquinas, Molloy and Caldwell in its first four matches. It was in Match 5 where the Bears took their only loss of the day against Saint Francis Brooklyn.
Natalia Miranda Vega averaged 184.2 to finish fifth in the field in scoring. La'Monique Berrios averaged 182 to finish seventh overall in the field.
Both players were named to the all-tournament team, as seven spots were awarded the honor.

North Carolina A&T State Finishes Eighth in LIU Northeast Classic
MILLSBORO, Del. -- North Carolina A&T State finished the first bowling event on the 2022 schedule in eighth place at the LIU Northeast Classic.
The tournament consisted of eight top-10 teams from the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) national poll, including the Aggies, who are ranked fourth.
A&T entered bracket play in seventh place on Sunday.

Delaware State Records Top-10 Finish at Northeast Classic
MILLSBORO, Del. -- The Delaware State University women's bowling team competed in the Northeast Classic hosted by Long Island University and Sacred Heart University over the weekend.
Freshman Sydney Reardon led the Hornets with a ninth-place finish out of a field of 135 bowlers. Reardon tallied 1,110 pins for an average of 222.00 on the weekend. Her best overall performance came in game three when she threw a 266.
Reardon's finish was the second-highest individual performance out of teams representing the MEAC.

Monmouth Defeats Two Ranked Foes at Northeast Classic
MILLSBORO, Del. -- The Monmouth University bowling team placed 14
th overall at the Northeast Classic, which was co-hosted by LIU and Sacred Heart over the weekend. Seventeen (17) of the 18 teams at the event, including the Hawks, were among the top 25 in the country in the most recent National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll.
Monmouth picked up one win on each day of the tournament. On Saturday, Monmouth downed No. 2 McKendree in a close traditional match, 1,089 to 1,052. During the championship round on Sunday, the Hawks bested MEAC rival No. 18 Maryland Eastern Shore, coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win in seven games, 4-3.
For the second time this season, Saige Yamada led Monmouth in traditional play, placing 12
th overall among 135 bowlers.

Maryland Eastern Shore Finishes 15th in Northeast Classic
MILLSBORO, Del. -- Maryland Eastern Shore finished 15th in the LIU Northeast Classic over the weekend, but the Hawks did pick up three wins over ranked opponents -- including No. 1 Sam Houston State on Friday.
The Hawks finished 2-3 on the second day of competition, with the two wins coming versus No. 5 Vanderbilt (1,065-971) and No. 10 Maryville (981-849).
Junior Alejandra Amezcua stepped up big time, putting up a five-game average of 229.60 and finished in fifth overall with a spot on the All-Tournament team.
