MEAC Announces Weekly Cross Country Honors, presented by Coca-Cola

NORFOLK, Va., Sept. 8, 2021Howard University senior Ayoade Adebiyi was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Morgan State junior Rachel Field was named Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Adebiyi (Sr. Virginia Beach, Va.) finished seventh in the Mount 5K Duals hosted by Mount St. Mary’s, setting a new school record with a 16:13.15 over the 5K course – the fastest time in the MEAC over the weekend.
 
Field (Jr., San Tan Valley, Ariz.) turned in the MEAC’s fastest 5K time of the weekend on the women’s side, running a 16:17.3 at the Towson Invitational to finish 17th.
 
Other Top Performers
Amadou Ba (Coppin State) came in fifth at the Towson Invitational with an 18:08.2.
 
Saidai Stuteley (Coppin State) ran a 17:10.1 at the Towson Invitational to finish 24th.
 
Joslyn Crosby (Howard) finished top-20 at the Mount 5K Duals with a 20:45.9.
 
Jackson Waller (Morgan State) ran a 17:31.7 to win the Towson Invitational and lead the Bears to the team title.
 
Jada Banks (South Carolina State) ran a personal-best 18:57.6 at the Buccaneer Invitational to finish seventh.
