BALTIMORE, Md. -- Behind a double-double from Andrea Tsvetanova, Coppin State was victorious in its home opener, 3-0 (26-24, 25-14, 25-21) over George Washington on Wednesday night at PEC Arena
The Eagles improve to 4-3 on the season while the Colonials fall to 0-6.
This was the first time in five matches that Coppin has defeated its rivals from our Nation's Capital.
Tsvetanova finished with 29 assists and ten digs while adding three aces and a pair of kills while directing the CSU offense to a .234 hitting percentage. Receiving the bulk of her sets were Miajavon Coleman and Paola Caten, who tallied 11 kills and nine kills, respectively. Jordan Celestine pounded down eight kills while hitting a whopping .583 on 12 swings.
Also on the attack, Ahzhi Coleman tallied five kills and both Sydney Hicks and Hope Casel finished with four kills apiece.

DOVER, Del. -- Delaware State notched its sixth sweep of the 2021 season in eight matches on Wednesday, taking care of Manhattan 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-13) in Memorial Hall.
With the win, the Hornets improves to 7-1 on the season.
Valeria Otero led Delaware State with 12 kills, while Alondra Maldonado added 11 kills and hit .435 (just one error in 23 total swings). Malgorzata Andersohn had 24 assists to Alayna Lacy's 16; Andersohn also had three service aces.
Kristi Gomez led the Hornets with four service aces.
Jasmal Cruz led the Delaware State defensive effort with 18 digs.
