PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Coppin State split a pair of matches at Penn's Sheraton University City Volleyball Invitational, held Saturday night at the Palestra. To open the day, the Eagles defeated Bucknell, 3-1 (13-25, 26-24, 25-10, 25-21), before falling to the host Quakers (19-25, 25-15, 27-25, 27-25).
Andrea Tsvetanova posted her third double-double of the season with a match-high 37 assists against Bucknell, to go along with 12 digs as she set up outside hitters Miajavon Coleman (19 kills) and Paola Caten (15 kills) for a combined 34 kills.
Ashley Roman led all players with 21 digs and Jordan Celestine posted a match-high seven blocks.
Coleman finished a dig shy of a double-double but continued to climb the Coppin State kill charts, passing Brittany Arvin for third on the all-time list. Roman also made history, notching her 19
th match with at least 20 digs, which breaks Gabrielle Otero's record of 18 matches.

LORETTO, Pa. -- Delaware State suffered its first loss of 2021 on Saturday in four sets against Saint Francis, but the Hornets bounced back in the nightcap, sweeping Saint Peter's for the second time in a week.
Delaware State is now 5-1 on the young season.
Alondra Maldonado, the reigning MEAC Player of the Week, had 12 kills to lead the Hornets against Saint Peter's, hitting .429 for the match. Sydney Lewis had 10 kills, and Malgorzata Andersohn recorded a double-double with a team-high 22 assists and 12 digs.
The Hornets hit .337 for the match, while holding the Peacocks to just .038 hitting.

Maryland Eastern Shore 3, NJIT 0 | Delaware 3, Maryland Eastern Shore 0
NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Maryland Eastern Shore won its second match of the season on Saturday after sweeping the NJIT Highlanders. The Hawks fell to the University of Delaware Blue Hens later on in the day.
In the match versus NJIT, the Hawks took set one 25-19. The highlight of the frame was the team's 6-0 run with sophomore Portia Strasburg on the service line after the score was tied at 11. The second set was a tighter affair as Eastern Shore was able to outlast the Highlanders for a 26-24 victory.
In the third set, NJIT jumped out to an early 6-3 lead. The Hawks countered with a 5-0 run with junior Sophia Chacon on the service line. The Shore would never trail again as they cruised to a 25-17 win in the frame to finish the sweep of the Highlanders.
Sophomore Maya Hendricks and graduate student Marina Cruz headlined the team's balanced attack as they tied for the game high in kills with nine apiece. The Hawks had strong defensive effort at the net as well, as they finished with 10.5 blocks.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- After falling in straight sets to former MEAC rival North Carolina A&T State on Saturday, Norfolk State bounced back and swept American 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 for the Spatrans' first win of the 2021 season.
Rachel Williams racked up 11 kills in the win, while also recording 10 digs. Williams has recorded double-doubles in two of her last three matches, and she was one kill away against Hampton from having recorded double-doubles in three of the first four matches of 2021.
Nicole Rodriguez led Norfolk State defensively against American with 20 digs, while Caris Cross quarterbacked the Spartans offense to the tune of 31 assists.
