VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- A Norfolk State legend, four-time NBA All-Star, and two-time NBA Champion, Bob Dandridge's resume was impressive but not quite complete. That changed on Sept. 11, when Dandridge joined basketball immortality with induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Richmond, Va., native waited over 30 years for his call, but he won't have to wait nearly as long to be celebrated in Hampton Roads. The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame will honor one of its own with Call to the Hall with Bob Dandridge on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Zeiders American Dream Theater in Town Center of Virginia Beach.

Call to the Hall will feature the 1992 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame, and 2021 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, Dandridge, for an evening of storytelling that is sure to delight any sports fan. 2020 Virginia Sports Hall of Fame inductee Bruce Rader from WAVY-TV will serve as emcee for the event.

One of the all-time greats in CIAA and HBCU history, Dandridge became a two-way force in the NBA, teaming up with the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Roberston and Elvin Hayes on championship teams in the 1970's.

"Here in Virginia, we have always known the caliber of player Bob Dandridge was," Virginia Sports Hall of Fame Executive Director Will Driscoll said. "We are thrilled he has finally received this recognition that was long overdue, and we are even more excited we get to be a part of his celebration."

Tickets for Hall of Fame Hoops begin at $15 each and seating is limited. For more information, please visit the Hall of Fame's website, www.VaSportsHOF.com, or Zeiders website, www.thez.org.
