Delaware State Women Begin Fall Schedule with Win Over Hawks

DOVER, Del., Sept. 27, 2021 -- The Delaware State women's tennis team won five of six singles matches and swept the three doubles contests in a 6-1 victory over Monmouth in the Hornets' fall opener at the Colonial Tennis Center.

Three of Delaware Sttae's individual wins were in straight sets.

Newcomers Samara Guillory posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Jordyn Pax in the No. 6 contest, while Kit Yi Kaye Au-Yeung defeated Ann Spurka 6-4, 6-0 winner at No. 1.

Delaware State's Iris Leder was the victor in the No. 5 match 6-4, 6-4 over Lauren Landstrom.

Daria Julia and Klaudija Lisovska needed three sets in their matches to earn points for the Hornets.

Julia was a 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 winner over Nicole Glasser, while Lisovksa defeated Lenien Jamir 6-0, 2-6, 6-2.
Kit Yi Kaye Au-Yeung and Baluk Deang teamed up for a 6-0 victory in No. 1 doubles.

Leder and Julia took the No. 2 doubles match, while Lisovska and Eva Golembiovski completed the doubles sweep for the Hornets with a 7-5 victory in the No. 3 contest.
