NORFOLK, Va., Sept. 24, 2021 – Norfolk State University football student-athletes Marquis Hall and Kevin Johnson have been appointed to the NCAA Division I Football Oversight Committee Student-Athlete Connection Group, with their terms beginning Thursday and continuing through June 30, 2022.
“Marquis and Kevin have been successful leaders on the football field and in the classroom,” MEAC Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas said. “They will be an asset to the NCAA Division I Football Oversight Committee Student-Athlete Connection Group and bring insight from the student-athlete perspective.”
“I am more than thankful for this opportunity,” Hall said, “and to work with the MEAC to change the culture.”
Added Johnson: “I’m grateful to be part of this committee and I’m excited for the opportunities it presents.”
Hall is a three-time honoree on the MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team (2019-21). Johnson was a Third Team All-MEAC selection in 2019, his rookie season, when he led the Spartans in rushing and total touchdowns. He was a Preseason First Team All-MEAC honoree heading into the 2021 campaign.
As members of the NCAA Division I Football Oversight Committee Student-Athlete Connection Group, Hall and Johnson will sustain and advance the Association’s mission, traditions, values and reputation.
