Adebiyi Leads the Bison at JMU Invitational
NEW MARKET, Va. -- The Howard University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the JMU Invitational, hosted by James Madison, where senior runner Ayoade Adebiyi led the way.
After a record-setting performance at the Mount 5K Duals on Sept. 3, the Virginia Beach, Va., native recorded another top-10 performance in the 8K run with a seventh-place finish, clocking in at 26:42.50.
Freshman Cameron Kennedy took 22
nd overall with a 28:40.20 mark, while fellow classmate Marsellis Davis produced a 29:01.80 time (28
th overall).
On the women's side, newcomer Camille Egbula finished with a 22:09.30 time (43
rd overall).

Two Eagles Set Personal Bests at adidas XC Challenge
CARY, N.C. -- North Carolina Central's men's and women's cross country teams were highlighted by freshman Victoria Swepson and senior Ashton Drake during the annual adidas XC Challenge at WakeMed Soccer Park on Friday evening.
Swepson crushed her personal-best time of 20:28.39 in the women's 5k by finishing the course in 19:37.7 to finish 49
th out of 72 competitors.
Drake set a personal-best mark in the 6k event with a time of 20:13.1 to place 62nd.

Norfolk State Competes in Virginia Invitational
EARLYSVILLE, Va. -- All-MEAC runners Evans Cheruiyot and Meshack Kipchirchir both finished among the top 30 runners for the Norfolk State men's cross country team at the University of Virginia Invitational.
Cheruiyot led the way with a 25th-place finish, covering the 8,000-meter course in 25 minutes, 42.8 seconds. Kipchirchir was not far behind, clocking a time of 25:56.5 to finish 30th.
Fridah Koech paced the Norfolk State women, finishing the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes, 58.7 seconds to finish 36th overall.
