DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central Department of Athletics is proud to announce ELEVATE, an education program powered by industry leader INFLCR to assist Eagles student-athletes in the management of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) activities.
With collegiate student-athletes now empowered to pursue NIL opportunities as of July 1, 2021, NCCU will provide education and tools for student-athletes to compliantly pursue their potential in this new era. ELEVATE includes a department-wide expansion of NCCU's partnership with INFLCR to include INFLCR Verified, a content-delivery, education and compliance platform for brand-building and NIL monitoring.
"We are thrilled about our enhanced partnership with INFLCR to provide all of our amazing student-athletes with the education, tools and technology needed to navigate the complexities of this new NIL era with confidence and maximize the opportunities that are now available to them," NCCU Director of Athletics Dr. Ingrid Wicker McCree said.
"Our student-athletes will be empowered by INFLCR's cutting-edge platform that delivers a robust knowledge-base with video and written content about financial literacy and applicable policies and laws governing NIL, as well as best practices for brand building to elevate their visibility and marketability, and a reporting structure to efficiently document NIL activities to ensure compliance."
INFLCR's Verified suite of products ensures student-athletes are provided the tools, content, financial literacy, and more to participate in upcoming opportunities from NIL legislation. NCCU is the first MEAC institution to utilize INFLCR Verified as an all-encompassing platform in support of student-athlete NIL.
Powered by flagship new products like the Compliance Exchange administrator dashboard and Storyteller Playbook video library, INFLCR Verified enhances the student-athlete experience by offering a comprehensive solution for responsible brand-building on social media, as well as a fully compliant path to external commercial activity from NIL.
Athletics programs are adopting this approach to educate and prepare staff and student-athletes for new opportunities and complexities from NIL legislation, aiming to ultimately provide best-case scenarios for student-athletes who will look to participate in monetization activities from their NIL.
"We are excited to expand our partnership with NCCU to support all Eagles student-athletes to maximize their NIL potential," INFLCR founder and CEO Jim Cavale said. "NCCU student-athletes can be confident they have access to the leading technology platform to successfully build their personal brands and navigate NIL safely and compliantly to their fullest potential."
INFLCR Verified is built around three pillars:
EDUCATION: The Storyteller Playbook
In-app NIL Education provides student-athletes access to custom educational content about brand building, social media strategy, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and more. The INFLCR Storyteller Playbook containing educational modules for athletes features Atlanta Dream co-owner and WNBA champion, Renee Montgomery, Seattle Seahawks Running Back, DeeJay Dallas, and other professional athletes. The Storyteller Playbook also spotlights subject matter experts like Team Altemus, Anomaly and Wasserman, providing financial, legal and business education pertaining to NIL.
Marketplace Education provides student-athletes with how-to and best-practice videos to establish repeatable practices and maximize success in leveraging partners and platforms within the INFLCR Exchange.
CONNECTION: To The Most Compliant NIL Monetization Opportunities
Student-Athletes can connect to an ever-growing menu of digital, endorsement, product and training marketplaces where they can sign up to begin building their NIL business. With more than one dozen platform partnerships and growing, student-athletes have the ability to become true entrepreneurs as they build their NIL business through our marketplace partners.
TRACKING: NIL Transactions and Disclosures
INFLCR's auto-reporting and self-reporting tools allow student-athletes to disclose all transactions to their institution's Compliance department. Every transaction that is performed through INFLCR Exchange platforms is automatically reported to the INFLCR Compliance Ledger for staff oversight. If student-athletes are contacted for opportunities outside of The INFLCR Exchange, they can send a link from INFLCR to the business to record the transaction compliantly.
