Odom Jr. Finished in First Place at the 2021 PGA Works Collegiate Championship, Bison Finished Fourth

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL --  Howard University Gregory Odom won his first tournament as a Bison, taking home the 2021 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship title. On day three, the men's team faltered, falling to fourth place at The Players Championship (TPC Sawgrass) in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl. to close out the 2020-21 inaugural season. 

Odom finished the tournament four-over-par, shooting 71-75-74 for a total score of 220. Everett Whitten Jr. finished 18th (78-73-88), Edrine Okon finished T21 (75-78-89). 

After combining 22 birdies in the first two rounds, Howard mustered five birdies on the final day. The Bison struggled on par 3s (+17) and par 5s (+12).  

Prairie View A&M took the tournament title, shooting 311-304-306, Alabama State finished in second place, shooting 321-301-303. Howard 307-307-332 finished in fourth place.

The PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship is a 54-hole, stroke-play Championship consisting of three team division from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) and other Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs), in addition to two Individual Divisions for minority men and women players who are listed on the roster of their college team or are part of the PGA of America's Golf Management University programs.
