DOVER, Del., May 5, 2021 -- Delaware State's Katie Robb is two wins away from becoming a national champion.
Robb won two matches today in the United State Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Singles Championship Tournament in Grand Rapids, Mich., to advance to the nationally-televised "Final 4."
Robb won her first match of the day against Rebekah Loker of Ottawa Univ. (Kan.) 613-573. Loker held a 244-188 advantage after the first game, but Robb won game two 193-155 and took the third game 222-174 to advance to the round of eight.
The Delaware State standout won 616 to 607 over Victoria Giardina of Lawrence Tech to reach the final four. Robb posted scores of 234 and 205 in games two and three.
Robb will face Isabel Allen of McKendree in her semifinal match. Ana Olaya of North Carolina A&T State and Maryssa Carey of Indiana Tech will compete in the other semifinal match.
The nationally-televised semifinals and championship will take place on Saturday May 8 at 4:30 p.m. The tape-delayed broadcast of the will air on CBS Sports Network on May 11 at 8 p.m.
