Hornets Top Mount St. Mary's for Fourth Straight Win

EMMITSBURG, Md., April 8, 2021 -- Delaware State dominated the doubles competition to highlight a 4-3 women's tennis victory at Mount St. Mary's on Thursday.

The Hornets won their fourth straight match to improve to 4-1 this season.

Delaware State won all three doubles matches to pick up the point that eventually determined the winner of the contest.

Lolita Kozina and Klaudia Lisovska posted a dominating 6-0 victory in the No. 1 doubles contest, while Iris Leder and Daria Julia were 6-3 winners at No. 2 for the Hornets.

Delaware State completed the doubles sweep with a 7-6 victory by Cassandra Boltman and Alina Polyvana in the No. 3 match. The pair improved to 4-1 in doubles play this season.

The teams split the six singles contests.

Kozina, Boltman and Leder recorded impressive straight set victories for Delaware State.

Kozina posted a 6-0, 6-4 victory in the No. 1 contest to improve to 3-2 overall in singles competition this season.
   
Boltman had her most dominating singles win this year, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5, while Leder pitched a shutout in the No. 6 match, winning 6-0, 6-0.
