Hornets Edge Rider in Regular-Season Finale

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J., April 20, 2021 -- The Delaware State women's tennis team tuned up for this weekend's MEAC Tennis Championship appearance with a 4-3 victory at Rider in the Hornets' regular-season finale on Tuesday.

The teams split the six singles matches, but the Hornets took all three doubles contests to provide the margin of victory.

Each singles match was decided in two sets.

Delaware State's Lolita Kozina was at winner at No. 1 by 6-2 and 6-3 scores. Daria Julia was a 6-4, 6-4 victor for the Hornets in the No. 2 contest, while Cassandra Boltman earned a point for DSU with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 6.

Kozina teamed up with Klaudia Lisovska for a 6-3 win in the No. 1 doubles match. Julia and Iris Leder pitched a 6-0 shutout in the No. 2 doubles contest, while Boltman and Alina Polyvana won at No. 3 doubles, 6-4.

The win gives Delaware State a final regular-season record of 5-4.
