BALTIMORE, Md. -- 
Coppin State's Ashley Roman led all players with 22 digs and three aces to lead the Eagles to a 3-0 victory (25-21, 25-20, 25-19) over Delaware State on Monday night at PEC Arena. With the victory, the Eagles are now 5-4 overall, which is their best start in program history through nine matches, and 4-1 in MEAC play. 
 
A native of Isabela, Puerto Rico, Roman carried the Eagles defensively accounting for over 40 percent of Coppin's total digs. Paola Caten also reached double figures in digs with 13 and was second on the team with six kills.

Salma Gonzalez added eight digs as well.
 
Miajavon Coleman led Coppin's attack with nine kills along with her seven digs, and Chudear Tut recorded four blocks on the night. 
 
Both teams recorded 7.0 total blocks in just three sets, with Coleman and Jordan Celestine chipping in with three blocks apiece. The Eagles held Delaware State to a miniscule .025 hitting percentage.

Three Morgan State players recorded double-digit kills in the Lady Bears' first match since Feb. 12 on Monday evening, as Morgan State defeated five-time defending MEAC champion Howard 3-2 (25-15, 17-25, 25-14, 24-26, 15-10) in Hill Field House.

Tylar Roberson led the way with 14 kills and three service aces, while Shadae Debraux hit .576 and added 12 kills of her own. Jourdan Page chipped in 11 kills for the Lady Bears (3-1, 2-0 MEAC), who hit .264 for the match.

Jada Bivins quarterbacked Morgan State's offense to the tune of 42 assists, and Jenevvy Santos led on defense with 14 digs.

Tamar Wells led Howard (2-6 ,1-5 MEAC) with 13 kills.
