RALEIGH N.C.— North Carolina Central University sophomore Daniel Barbare carded a new career-low of 70 in the second round of the HBCU Invitational hosted by the Black College Golf Coaches Association (BCGCA) on Monday and Tuesday at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Raleigh.
Barbare (Raleigh, N.C.) posted scores of 75 and 70 with a three-over-par total score of 145 to finish in sixth place out of 20 competitors, earning BCGCA all-tournament team honors.
NCCU junior Hogan Lang (Lockport, N.Y.) finished in eighth place shooting a total of 147 with rounds of 72 and 75. Freshman Trey Morse completed the two-day event dishing out scores of 77 and 79 to finish with a total score of 156.
As a team, NCCU posted results of 308 and 303 (611) to finish tied for third place in the four-team tournament field with Savannah State. Florida A&M finished on top with rounds of 282 and 285 for a total score of 567.
Next, the Eagles will compete in the MEAC Championship on Monday and Tuesday, April 19-20 at Bryan Park in Greensboro.
