North Carolina A&T State Goes 9-1 at Northeast Tourney
STRATFORD, N.J. -- Thirteenth-ranked North Carolina A&T State posted a 4-1 mark on the Northeast Classic bowling tournament's second day on Saturday, after going a perfect 5-0 on Friday for a 9-1 overall mark for the weekend.
N.C. A&T's Saturday excellence improves the Aggies to 11-2 overall this season. Tournament officials canceled the final day of the event due to inclement weather.
The Aggies' Saturday included the team knocking down 4,907 pins and placing three bowlers in the top 10.
Senior Ana Olaya led the way for the second consecutive week after totaling 1,023 pins to average 204.60 over five games as she finished fifth.

Delaware State Finishes Third at Northeast Tourney
STRATFORD, N.J. -- Delaware State posted an 8-2 overall record to finish third in the 11-team Northeast Invitational bowling tournament this past weekend.
The Hornets, ranked No. 15 in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 25 poll, were 4-1 in Friday's Baker competition and Saturday's traditional play. Sunday's Baker dual scheduled was called off due to inclement weather.
Individually, DSU's Steffany Toala was second among 76 weekend competitors with a total pinfall of 1038 for a five-game average of 207.6. Toala topped the 200 mark in each of her last three games, including a high of 224 vs. St. Francis.

Monmouth Opens 2021 Season at Northeast Tourney
STRATFORD, N.J. -- The Monmouth University bowling team opened its 2021 season at the Northeast Classic hosted by Mount St. Mary's and Chestnut Hill at 30 Strikes Lanes on Saturday.
The Hawks went 3-2 across five traditional games in the abbreviated tournament, with victories over Saint Francis, Chestnut Hill and LIU.
Preseason All-MEAC selection Saige Yamade led Monmouth with a ninth-place individual finish. Yamada rolled three 200+ games and averaged 201.60 in the event.

UAB Dominates at Railsplitter Classic
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB bowling team went undefeated in its first day of play en route to picking up its first tournament win of the season at the 2021 Railsplitter Classic.
Samantha Johnson led the way with a total pinfall of 1,172 to finish in third place. Elise London (1,054), Jamie Krasnigor (1,009) and Katie Hurley (960) placed fifth, eighth and 12th, respectively, to finish the Blazers in the top 25 individually.
Johnson and London were both named to the 2021 Railsplitter Classic All-Tournament Team.

Lady Bears Compete at the Northeast Classic
STRATFORD, N.J. -- The Morgan State bowling team took to the lanes on Friday at 30 Strikes for the first time for the 2020-21 season, competing in five matches of five-game Baker total pinfall rounds in the Northeast Classic hosted by Chestnut Hill College.
Morgan State went 0-5 on the day facing three nationally ranked teams with two of those teams being ranked in the top 10. For the day, Morgan State averaged 164.2 for each Baker Game.
Natalia Miranda Vega, who joined the Lady Bears just days ago, led Morgan State in Baker frame average with a 17.78.

Coppin State Picks Up a Pair of Victories at Northeast Classic
STRATFORD, N.J. -- Coppin State's bowling team picked up a pair of baker match victories as it finished seventh of eight schools at the Northeast Invitational on Friday afternoon at 30 Strikes.
The Eagles defeated Chestnut Hill and Morgan State.
