Delaware State 68, Coppin State 55
DOVER, Del. -- The Delaware State Lady Hornets defeated the Coppin State Eagles 68-55 on Saturday afternoon at the Memorial Hall Gymnasium.
The Lady Hornets improved to 3-8 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
Kiana Coomber finished with game highs in points (18) and rebounds (13), and she also added four steals and one assist in the contest. Sharajah Collins and DeMaurea Moore added 14 and 10 points, respectively, for the Lady Hornets.
Jalynda Salley recorded a double-double for Coppin State with 13 points and 16 boards.
The rematch, originally set for Sunday, has been moved to 3 p.m. on Tuesday due to the threat of inclement weather.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Howard University Bison held on to defeat the Morgan State Lady Bears 70-68 after sinking nine of 12 free throws in the final three minutes on Saturday to take the first game of the weekend series in Burr Gymnasium, snapping the Lady Bears' five-game win streak.
Three Bison scored in double figures, led by Jayla Thornton's 21 points on 3-for-8 shooting from beyond the arc, tying her with Bethune-Cookman's Kendra Cooper for most 3-pointers made in a career in MEAC history (259). Joining Thornton in double figures were Anzhane' Hutton (13), Iyanna Warren (13) and Brooklyn Fort-Davis (11).
Thornton recorded her second double-double of the season, grabbing a career-high 14 boards.
Fort-Davis was just shy of a double-double of her own with nine rebounds.
