NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 23, 2021 —
Senior catcher/designated player Tuli Iosefa of Norfolk State has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, it was announced on Tuesday. Meanwhile,
sophomore pitcher Cam Andersen of Norfolk State was named Pitcher of the Week,
with freshman utility player Kendall Macauley of North Carolina A&T State picking up Rookie of the Week honors.
Iosefa (C/DP, 5-5, Sr., Virginia Beach, Va.) led the Spartans to a 2-2 split with Morehead State, finishing the weekend with a .444 batting average while going 4-for-9 with four hits, five RBIs, a home run, a double and a walk. She hit a two-run home run in the first game against Morehead State, a Spartans win.
Andersen (P, 5-5, So., Norfolk, Va.) picked up two wins over Morehead State in the four-game weekend series, allowing just two earned runs in a combined nine innings of work. She finished the weekend with a 1.56 ERA and struck out eight batters.
Macauley (UTL, 5-6, Fr., Fayetteville, N.C.) had a batting average of .286 over the weekend as she went a combined 2-for-7 in three games against Georgia State and Presbyterian. She had two hits and batted .500 in two of the three games.

Jai Deese (North Carolina A&T State) led the Aggies with a .500 batting average in four games last week, going 5-for-10 with one double and a pair of walks.
Sharla Kirkpatrick (North Carolina A&T State) struck out two batters in three games.
Kiara Hurley (North Carolina Central) finished the weekend with a 3.05 ERA, allowing eight earned runs and striking out 15 batters – including a 10-strikeout effort with no earned runs allowed in eight innings against Mount St. Mary’s.
