North Carolina A&T State Wins MEAC Meet
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- North Carolina A&T State's bowling season is one to remember.
On Sunday, NCAT (31-5, 7-1 MEAC), the 13th-ranked team in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll, won its fourth consecutive tournament with a 4-3 win over No. 15 Delaware State in the championship of the MEAC meet at Triad Lanes.
Ericka Quesada, MEAC Preseason Bowler of the Year Cameron Strombeck and Lauren Tomaszewski were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Delaware State Comes in Second in MEAC Meet
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Delaware State and North Carolina A&T State went down to the wire in the championship match of the MEAC meet before the Aggies prevailed in a battle of nationally-ranked women's bowling teams on Sunday.
North Carolina A&T, ranked No. 13 in the latest NTCA monthly poll, defeated the No. 15 Hornets 4-3 in the best-of-seven series.
Delaware State had four of the top eight individual scorers, led by junior Stefanny Toala, who was fourth among 29 competitors with a total pinfall of 1,059 for a five-game average of 211.8. Toala topped the 200 mark in each of the last four games, including a season-high 258, second-best among Saturday's scores.
Saralyne Nassberg was fifth in the individual standings with a 1,055 total pinfall (211.0)

Monmouth Takes Third in MEAC Meet
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Monmouth University bowling team saw its first conference competition of the 2021 season this weekend at the MEAC meet and came away with a .500 record.
The Hawks went 5-5 head-to-head in the three-day tournament and picked up two wins over top-25 teams by defeating #13 North Carolina A&T and #15 Delaware State in baker format. Sunday's bracket play had the Hawks split the two matches, with a win over UAB.
Senior Camelia Coffman paced the Hawks with an individual 11th-place finish that included a pair of 200+ games.

UAB Comes in Fourth at MEAC Meet
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The UAB bowling team finishes fourth at the MEAC meet this past weekend.
On Sunday, UAB went 1-1 to finish the competition in fourth place.
Jamie Krasnigor led the way with a total pinfall of 947 to finish in 12th and freshman Shauna Rodgers finished with a total pinfall of 913 to finish in 17th place. Samantha Johnson (890), Elise London (884) and Katie Hurley (723) placed 19th, 20th and 23rd, respectively, to finish the Blazers in the top 25 individually.

Coppin State Wraps Up MEAC Meet in Fifth Place
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Coppin State concluded its weekend at the MEAC Meet #1 on Sunday at Triad Lanes, finishing in fifth place overall. The Eagles won the opening game of its best-of-seven baker match with UAB but dropped the next four to the Blazers to finish in fifth place overall.
For the tournament, Coppin recorded 9,570 pins in 55 games, averaging 174.0 pins per game.
Kaylah Castillo averaged a 198.00 and finished ninth overall.
