Delaware State 3, Coppin State 2
BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Delaware State volleyball team tied the program record with its 23
rd win of the season, outlasting Coppin State 3-2 in a MEAC contest on Sunday. The Hornets, now 23-3 overall and tied for first in the MEAC with an 11-2 league mark, matching the top wins total in program history first set by the 1987 squad (23-6).
Delaware State can set the school single-season wins record and clinch at least a share of the MEAC regular-season title on Friday in its 2021 finale at Maryland Eastern Shore.
The Hornets also completed a regular season sweep of Coppin State, the preseason MEAC favorite.

Howard 3, South Carolina State 1
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Howard University extended its win streak after downing South Carolina State in four sets (25-20, 25-13, 23-25, 25-20) at Burr Gymnasium on Sunday.
With the victory, Howard moved to 14-11 (11-2 MEAC) on the season, while increasing its winning streak to eight.
Before the contest, the program recognized its four seniors for their hard work and dedication to Howard Athletics: Nina Askew, Busisiwe Banda, Milexa Cardona and Kailyn Williams.
All four Bison started the match and made big contributions in the victory, led by Askew with a match-high 10 total blocks (five solo), six kills and three digs.

Maryland Eastern Shore 3, Morgan State 0
BALTIMORE, Md. -- After dropping two consecutive matches, the Maryland Eastern Shore volleyball team got back to its winning ways with a Sunday afternoon sweep of the Morgan State Bears.
The scores by set were 25-18, 30-28 and 25-22.
The Shore had a strong defensive day, as the team had 12 total blocks. Mauri Carver had six blocks and Derionah Abner finished with four. Senior Stella Johnson had a game-high 16 digs behind them. Cruz had nine kills to lead the Hawks' offense.

North Carolina Central 3, Norfolk State 1
NORFOLK, Va. -- Senior middle blocker McKayla Young smashed a career-high 19 kills to lead North Carolina Central to a 3-1 win at Norfolk State University on Sunday afternoon.
A total of four Eagles recorded 10 or more kills and six Eagles reached double-digit digs as NCCU secured the 25-19, 18-25, 25-20, 25-15 triumph. Young led the group with her 19 kills on 30 swings with just one error for a scorching .600 hitting percentage.
N.C. Central (9-13 overall, 8-5 MEAC) locked up a winning league record for a second straight season. Norfolk State (8-16, 4-9) lost for only the fourth time at home all season.
The two teams split the first two sets, with Norfolk State's attack affecting both results. In the first set, NCCU's final four points to close out a six-point win were tallied on four hitting errors by the Spartans. However, in the second set Norfolk State did not commit a hitting error on the way to a .361 hitting percentage that helped level the match.
The Eagles were the ones to heat up offensively in the final two sets to complete the season-series sweep.
