Watch the Play
The fans have spoken, and Delaware State wide receiver Trey Gross has won the final Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Fans' Play of the Week of the 2021 season.
With the Hornets trailing 28-21 in the closing minute of regulation against North Carolina Central, Gross was lined up wide on the far side of the field. He took advantage of a one-on-one match-up as Jared Lewis threw the ball into the end zone.
Gross leapt over his defender for the grab, his career-best fourth touchdown of the game -- and a score that tied the contest at 28-all with 24 seconds to go and forced overtime.
Of the more than 36,000 votes cast, Gross's grab racked up more than 20,000 total votes.
