DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University shot nearly 60 percent from the floor, and tied for the third-largest margin of victory in a 110-32 triumph over Warren Wilson for its 13th consecutive home-opening win on Tuesday, Nov. 23 inside McDougald-McLendon Arena.
NCCU (1-4) shot 63.2 percent in the first half as it knocked down 11 three-pointers, led by Alex Caldwell who went 4-for-4 from the arc in the first period for the second time this year. The Eagles sprinted out to a 61-17 lead over WWC (1-5) after 20 minutes, and never looked back.

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk State men's basketball team extended its best Division I start to 6-1 on Tuesday night by holding visiting Regent University to the fewest points in school history in the Spartans' 95-20 win at Echols Hall.
The 1995-96 team was the last Spartan program to begin a season 6-1.
NSU held the Royals (2-6) to 14 percent shooting (7-of-49) and forced 29 Regent turnovers. NSU converted those into 36 points at the other end, 25 via the fast break.
Jalen Hawkins paced NSU with 16 points, 12 in the first half. Dana Tate Jr. added a season-high 13 and Joe Bryant also scored 13 each and Daryl Anderson 10 for the Spartans, who saw all 14 of their players score at least two points.
In all, nine different Spartans scored in the period. NSU held Regent to 4-of-25 shooting (16 percent) while forcing 14 Royals turnovers.

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The South Carolina State men’s basketball team fell 82-78 to USC Upstate on Tuesday night at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
SC State (1-6) was led by Ed Oliver-Hampton who scored 19 points off the bench. Four other Bulldogs scored in double figures, including Latavian Lawrence (15) and Antonio Madlock (13).
