NORFOLK, Va., Nov. 23, 2021—Howard University sophomore forward Anzhane’ Hutton was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today. Delaware State freshman center Unique Miller was named Rookie of the Week, while Morgan State graduate forward Dahnye Redd earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Hutton (6-0, So., F, Dallas, Texas) dropped 17 points on 6-for-8 shooting (.750) and a 5-for-8 effort from the free throw line as Howard grabbed its first win of the season this past Sunday, 62-52 over Saint Peter’s. Hutton, the reigning MEAC Rookie of the Year, also had four rebounds and two steals.
Miller (6-1, Fr., C, Norfolk, Va.) averaged 9.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in contests against Penn State and Delaware this past week, going a combined 8-for-13 (.615) from the floor. Against Penn State, she had eight points, seven rebounds and two steals, while going 4-for-5 from the floor, and she added 11 points, nine rebounds and two blocks against Delaware.
Redd (5-11, Gr., F, Darby, Pa.) grabbed 14 rebounds (eight on the defensive end) and nabbed three steals in the Bears’ 87-35 win over Notre Dame (Md.). She added 16 points in that contest, and earlier in the week, Redd had two defensive rebounds and a steal against Syracuse.

Jaia Alexander (Coppin State) had five rebounds and a blocked shot against Virginia Tech, while also scoring eight points.
Mossi Staples (Coppin State) had nine points, four rebounds and two steals against Virginia Tech.
Jewel Watkins (Coppin State) had four points, two rebounds, a steal and an assist against Virginia Tech.
Camille Downs (Norfolk State) had 15 points against College of Charleston.
Tianna Carter (North Carolina Central) dropped 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds against Nebraska after a 10-point, 6-rebound performance against VCU.
Trinity Klock (South Carolina State) scored 14 points against St. Thomas after turning in 10 points and seven boards against USC Upstate.
