DOVER, Del., Nov. 15, 2021 -- While the Delaware State football team has turned its attention to this Saturday's season finale at North Carolina Central, the Hornets continue to receive national  recognition for their thrilling 28-26 comeback win over Norfolk State this past Saturday.

The Hornets have been selected as the STATS Perform Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) "Team of the Week."

Delaware State trailed Norfolk State 26-0 before storming back to score 28 unanswered points in the last 24 minutes to complete the second biggest comeback in team history and keep hopes alive for the team's first winning season in eight years.

The Hornets scored the go-ahead points on a 30-yard touchdown pass from Jared Lewis to Trey Gross with 1:53 to play.

Delaware State's win against the Spartans was also featured on Saturday night and Sunday ESPN SportCenter broadcasts.

A win at North Carolina Central this weekend would give the Hornets a 6-5 overall record and a winning season for the first time since 2013.
