Norfolk State Cross Country Caps 2021 Season at NCAA Regional

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Norfolk State men's cross country team concluded its 2021 season at the NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by the University of Kentucky.

Four Spartans participated in the 10,000-meter race. The group was paced by junior Meshack Kipchirchir, who crossed the line in 32 minutes, 23.3 seconds. Kipchirchir placed 137th.

MEAC individual champion Evans Cheruiyot was NSU's next finisher, posting a time of 33:18.8 to finish in 166th. Sophomore Isa Suleiman recorded a time of 34:18.2 and junior Je'Shawn Walker crossed the finish line in 37:04.9.

The Spartans, who won their record 14th MEAC championship of all-time last month and second in a row, will now take a brief break before turning their sights to indoor track season, which gets underway in December.
